19th century, the rectangular plate within a conforming divided surround surmounted by an oil on canvas scene of 18th century figures in an outdoor tavern. 65.75'' H x 39.5'' W, est:$1500/2500
Condition: Dimensions of the canvas: 42'' x 33''. The mirror: structurally sound, general marks and scratches and wear commensurate with age. Rubbing and chip losses to painted decoration revealing red bole, white gesso and bare wood in areas. Some minor spotting to plate. The painting: extensive craquelure and crazing throughout. Heavy stretcher bar creases. Scattered quarter-sized area of loss along the upper center edge and some other smaller scattered losses throughout. Scattered surface drips. Canvas very loose on the stretchers. Apparently no evidence of restoration under blacklight. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
